NPS calculator
Project your National Pension System corpus to retirement, then split it the way the current rules allow — lump sum, annuity and estimated monthly pension.
The exit rules this page applies (non-government subscribers)
- Since December 2025: at normal exit you may take up to 80% as lump sum; at least 20% must buy an annuity. (The earlier rule was 60/40.)
- Tax hasn't caught up: only 60% of the corpus is tax-free as lump sum. Withdraw 80% and the extra 20 points are taxed at your slab — the calculator shows that split explicitly.
- Small corpus: up to ₹8 lakh at exit can be withdrawn 100%.
- Normal exit now triggers at age 60 or 15 years of subscription, whichever is earlier; phased withdrawals (SLW) can run to age 85.
- Deductions: the extra ₹50,000 under 80CCD(1B) is old-regime only; in the new regime the employer's NPS contribution (up to 14% of Basic+DA) is the deductible route.
For information only — not investment or retirement advice. Returns and annuity rates are assumptions; actual NPS performance is market-linked and annuity quotes vary by provider and variant. Rules are PFRDA's and can change. Verify before deciding.
