EPF calculator
Your Employees' Provident Fund balance projected year by year — employee and employer contributions, EPS routing, salary growth and interest credited the official way.
How EPF grows
You contribute 12% of Basic + DA every month; your employer matches 12%, but 8.33% of wage (capped at the ₹15,000 ceiling, i.e. up to ₹1,250) goes to the pension scheme (EPS), not your EPF balance — the projection above counts only what actually lands in EPF. Interest is declared yearly (8.25% for FY 2025-26, the third year at that rate) and credited annually on monthly running balances.
- The EPS portion builds a separate pension under its own formula — it is not part of this corpus.
- VPF (voluntary contributions above 12%) earns the same declared rate.
- EPF interest is tax-exempt within limits (employee contributions above ₹2.5L/yr earn taxable interest).
- The wage ceiling was re-notified at ₹15,000 in May 2026; proposals to raise it to ₹21,000+ have not been notified.
For information only — not financial advice. The interest rate is declared yearly by EPFO and can change; projections assume it stays constant. Actual passbook figures can differ with deposit timing and rounding. Verify with your EPFO passbook.
