Why this exists

Search "in-hand salary calculator" and count the ad units before you find the input box. Most Indian finance calculators are ad farms with a formula bolted on — and half of them are still running last year's slabs.

Hisaab is the opposite bet: correct numbers, current rules, zero clutter. Every calculator has a show the math panel because a number you can't verify is just a rumour with confidence. The rates live in one config file, cross-checked against official sources and locked with tests, and the whole thing is open source.

Questions people ask

Is anything I type stored or sent anywhere?

No. Every calculator runs entirely in your browser — there is no server, no account, no analytics script, and no cookie. Close the tab and it's gone.

Why should I trust the numbers?

Every formula is cross-checked against at least two independent sources (official portals plus ClearTax, Zerodha and the like) and locked in with automated tests before a page ships. The whole site is open source — you can read the exact formula behind any result.

Old regime or new regime — which is better for me?

Whichever leaves more in your bank for your specific numbers — it mostly depends on how much you actually claim in deductions like HRA, 80C and home-loan interest. The salary calculator computes both regimes side by side so you can see the difference instead of guessing.

Hisaab is for information and educational use only and is not financial, tax, or investment advice. The calculators compute figures from the inputs you provide; they do not recommend any course of action. Tax outcomes depend on your full circumstances — consult a qualified professional before acting. Figures are rounded; verify against official sources.
